Joint Assessment Visit
On 5 November 2025, representatives from Novel Dynamics and FELCRA Bukit Kepong came together for a collaborative site visit and assessment meeting. The session focused on reviewing the mill’s sterilization performance, steam management, and kernel processing efficiency. With a processing capacity of 40 MT/hour running 24 hours daily, the mill provided a complete view of its current operational conditions.

Key Observations at the Mill
During the walkthrough of the sterilizer station, condensate handling system, and kernel recovery line, both teams identified several common challenges. The existing FFB cages limited steam penetration, leading to uneven sterilization and higher unstripped bunches. Pressure fluctuations during the sterilization cycle contributed to unnecessary steam consumption, while partial manual control in kernel separation created inconsistencies in recovery quality.

The Role of Novel HEMS Solutions
Throughout the meeting, Novel Dynamics introduced how the Novel HEMS suite could address these issues. The improved HEMS FFB Cages enhance steam contact for more uniform fruit cooking, while the Sterilizer Management System stabilizes pressure and optimizes steam usage. The Steam Balanced Management (BPR) System ensures consistent steam flow, improving overall cycle stability. Meanwhile, the Automated Depericarper System offers more reliable kernel separation, reducing breakage and improving recovery rates.

Conclusion and Way Forward
The visit reaffirmed significant opportunities for FELCRA Bukit Kepong to enhance efficiency through targeted upgrades in sterilization, steam control, and kernel processing. Both teams concluded the assessment with a shared commitment to exploring improvements that support better productivity, reduced operating costs, and stronger sustainability performance. Novel Dynamics extends appreciation to FELCRA Bukit Kepong for their cooperation and looks forward to continued collaboration.
